2016
Vision 2030 launch
It is my pleasure to present Saudi Arabia’s vision for the future. It is an ambitious yet achievable blueprint, which expresses our long-term goals and expectations and reflects our country’s strengths and capabilities. All success stories start with a vision, and successful visions are based on strong pillars. The future of Saudi Arabia is one of huge promise and great potential, Allah willing. Our precious country deserves the best.

Resolve under pressure
I don’t think that there is any challenge before the great Saudi people. All of our projects are proceeding, reform is proceeding, our war on extremism is proceeding… No matter how they try to stop our efforts, we won’t stop.
We believe that Saudi Arabia until today used only 10 percent of its capacity, and we have 90 percent to go. So the plans and the vision is shaped around this missing 90 percent: how can we implement it as much, as soon as possible.
2021
Vision deepens · citizens at the center
I believe that was the main emphasis for the Vision 2030 — to eliminate the challenges that we face and to exploit the untapped opportunities that may constitute 90 percent of our situation today, and we will continue to grow and to prosper and compete at a world level.
We can direct both [spending and investment] towards channels that would strengthen our economy and create the largest number of job opportunities. This will be to the country’s and citizen’s benefit.
Because of my confidence in every citizen’s capabilities, this program [Human Capability Development Program] has been developed to meet the needs and aspirations of all segments of society — beginning from childhood, through universities, colleges, technical and vocational institutes, and the labor market.
The Kingdom’s Vision 2030 was launched for a prosperous country in which the future of our sons and daughters is achieved, by harnessing an integrated system of programs to raise the level of services such as education, health, housing and infrastructure, create ample areas of job opportunities, and diversify the economy to enjoy solidity and durability.
2022
The King speaks
Our country is witnessing a comprehensive and sustainable development movement and is now in the second phase of Vision 2030.
2023
A development renaissance
Your country is continuing its development renaissance in accordance with Vision 2030 and its ambitious programmes, which, God willing, will contribute to the Kingdom maintaining its advanced position globally, achieving further development and prosperity, and providing a decent life for citizens.
2025
Less than a decade — the promise kept
We thank God for the achievements our country has made in less than a decade, making it a global model for transformation at all levels. While we are proud of the contributions of our nation’s people who have dedicated their efforts to moving it toward progress and prosperity, we will continue together on the path of construction to achieve more sustainable development for future generations.
2026
The third phase — at the forefront of advanced nations
Vision 2030 has brought about a qualitative transformation in the Kingdom’s development trajectory, through the comprehensive and tangible progress it has achieved across the economic sphere, services, infrastructure and logistics, and aspects of social life. The Vision entered in 2026 its third and final phase, which will extend over the next five years until 2030, maintaining its focus on long-term objectives while adapting implementation methods to the requirements of the phase, in a way that sustains momentum and prosperity and positions the Kingdom at the forefront of advanced nations.
Undated · Reflections
On ambition, on time, on the people.
Three statements from the Crown Prince that recur across speeches and interviews. Each speaks to a different facet of the same conviction.
The future of Saudi Arabia is not dependent on oil but on the minds of our people and their ability to unleash their potential.
— Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud
Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia
My ambition is for the Saudi economy to be a powerhouse. Vision 2030 is about a lot of big opportunities, so we try to localise all the jobs that we can.

I fear that the day I die, I am going to die without accomplishing what I have in my mind. Life is too short… that is why I am in a hurry.
